Cooking classes for tourists

Cooking classes for tourists

If you have been charmed by Romania and want to learn the secrets behind traditional Romanian cuisine, then the traditional cooking class with Mama Maradin is exactly what you need!

I invite you to cook together for an evening and enjoy a Romanian dinner, just like inside the family.

How is the course organized?

We meet in the evening, after a day when you may have visited and got to know a little of Brasov, in a group of 3 to 25 people and we continue to explore Romania through cooking.

We prepare together a good soup or a nice main course and a delicious dessert, all sprinkled with the magic of the storytelling while drinking a glass of lemonade, wine, pălincă or vișinată.

Who is Mama Maradin?

I’ve been a manager for over 20 years, a mother of two wonderful children, and I love the atmosphere of family meals that I’m happy to have at every meeting with tourists.

I like the state of celebration that we are giving together to such a night, how we get to feel like a big family, see you cook and manage to transform simple ingredients into tasty dishes.

I bring with me stories from my childhood in the countryside, during the time of communism, about carefully chosen ingredients and nutrition and healthy eating.

What are the workshop variants you can choose from?

Basic (1.5h)

We will test different types of meat, cheeses and appetizers, produced in Romania, passing through the steps necessary to produce them. We have the opportunity to compare past methods to the present ones.

We prepare an aperitif from local, seasonal vegetables such as eggplant or green tomatoes salad.

All will be served with fresh vegetables and potato bread.

Drinks like water, lemonade, a glass of wine or one of local brandy are included.
